## About WorkBolt

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What is WorkBolt?">
    WorkBolt is a platform that connects voice talent and audio experts with opportunities to train AI through audio data collection. We help build better voice AI by collecting diverse speech samples, recordings, and audio annotations that make voice assistants and AI systems more accurate and natural-sounding.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How does WorkBolt work?">
    WorkBolt connects you with audio AI projects that match your voice profile and language skills. You'll record audio samples, read scripts, have conversations, or validate audio recordings. All work is done remotely using your computer, and you can work on your own schedule.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Who can work with WorkBolt?">
    We welcome anyone with a clear speaking voice and a quiet recording environment. Whether you're a native speaker, have a specific accent, speak multiple languages, or have expertise in voice acting, there are audio data collection opportunities available for you.

## Getting started

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="How do I get started?">
    Getting started is easy! Visit [workbolt.ai/signup](https://www.workbolt.ai/signup) to create your account, complete the 6-step onboarding process (basic info, resume, language recording, availability, and review), then wait for approval. Once approved, complete the final setup (identity verification, payment setup, Discord) and start browsing available jobs. See our [Sign Up guide](/getting-started/sign-up) for detailed instructions.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What equipment do I need?">
    You'll need a computer with a good quality microphone, a quiet recording space with minimal background noise, and a stable internet connection. Most modern devices have suitable built-in microphones, though an external USB microphone can improve recording quality. See [Recording Setup](/equipment/recording-setup) for recommendations.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How long does approval take?">
    Profile review times vary based on current project demand and the specific requirements of available opportunities. Because of this, we are unable to provide a fixed review timeline. We’ll review your information and voice sample and notify you by email once the review is complete.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What browser do I need?">
    Google Chrome (latest version) is the only officially supported browser. Other browsers may cause issues with recording or playback. See [Software](/equipment/software) for details.
  </Accordion>

## Qualifications

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What qualifications do I need?">

  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need voice acting experience?">
    No! You don't need any prior voice acting or recording experience. We provide clear instructions and examples for all recording tasks. What matters most is your ability to speak clearly, follow directions, and record in a quiet environment.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I work if I'm a student?">
    Absolutely! Many of our contributors are students. Working with WorkBolt is a great way to earn money on a flexible schedule while helping train voice AI. Dartmouth students can also apply for the [AI Fellowship](/fellowship/overview) program.
