# Sign Up

> Create your WorkBolt account and start earning with your voice.

## Choose your account type

When you sign up, you'll first choose the option that best describes you:

    For current college students and recent graduates (must have graduated within the past 2 years — otherwise sign up as a General Expert).

  Not sure which to pick? If you're not a current student or a recent graduate (within the past 2 years), choose **General Expert**. Learn more about the [AI Fellowship](/fellowship/overview).

## How to create your account

  <Step title="Go to WorkBolt">
    Visit [workbolt.ai/signup](https://www.workbolt.ai/signup) and click **Get Started**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose your account type">
    Select **General Expert** or **AI Fellow** based on the descriptions above.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a sign-up method">
    You can create your account in one of two ways:

    * **Google** — click the Google button to sign up instantly with your Google account
    * **Email** — fill in your first name, last name, email address, phone number, and create a password (minimum 8 characters)
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify your email">
    Check your inbox for a 6-digit verification code from WorkBolt. Enter the code on the verification screen to confirm your email address.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify your phone number">
    After email verification, you'll be asked to verify your phone number via SMS. Enter the 6-digit code sent to your phone. If you don't receive a code, you can request a new one after a 30-second cooldown.

  <Step title="Complete onboarding">
    Once verified, you'll be taken through the onboarding process to set up your profile. See [Onboarding](/getting-started/onboarding) for details on each step.

<Note>
  If you sign up with Google and you're a new user, you may still be asked to provide and verify a phone number before proceeding.

## Sign-up requirements

* A valid email address
* A phone number that can receive SMS
* A password with at least 8 characters (for email sign-up)

## Referral codes

If someone referred you to WorkBolt, make sure to use their [referral link](/referrals/how-it-works) when signing up. The referral code is automatically captured from the URL — no need to enter it manually.

## Already have an account?

If you already have an account, go to [workbolt.ai/signin](https://www.workbolt.ai/signin) to sign in with your email and password or Google.
