## Job types and how to complete them

WorkBolt has three main job formats, each with a different completion flow.

### Recording jobs

Standard recording jobs redirect you to an external recording platform.

1. Click **Work on Job** on the job detail page
2. The recording platform opens in a new tab
3. Follow the on-screen instructions and scripts
4. Submit your recordings within the platform
5. Your submission automatically syncs back to WorkBolt

<Note>
  If the recording URL is not available yet, you'll see a notice on the job page. Check back later — the project team will make it available when ready.
</Note>

### Conversation jobs

Conversation jobs pair you with another participant for a \~15-minute recorded conversation.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Confirm requirements">
    Before joining, you must confirm:

    * Using earphones or a high-quality microphone in a quiet room
    * Minimal echo or background noise
    * Strong, stable internet connection
    * At least 20 minutes available
    * Agreement not to share personal information (PII) or use inappropriate language
  </Step>

  <Step title="Join the queue">
    Click **Join Conversation Queue**. You'll be matched with another participant automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Test audio in the lobby">
    Once matched, you'll enter a recording lobby where you can test audio quality with your partner before starting.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Record the conversation">
    Follow the given prompt and have a natural conversation for approximately 15 minutes. The recording happens automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start the Conversation Properly">
    Begin with a brief, friendly introduction with your conversation partner in the lobby. Once the conversation officially starts, move directly into the assigned topic.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete One Conversation First">
    For your first submission, please complete only **one conversation** and wait for our team to review and approve it before submitting more.

    This helps us confirm that your recording was completed correctly and that there are no technical or quality issues. Since payment is only issued for accepted jobs, this step helps prevent you from spending time on multiple recordings that may not meet the requirements.

    Once your first recording has been accepted and paid, you may begin completing multiple conversations at your own convenience.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  All conversation participants must pass a **pre-call quality check** (network, microphone, and background noise tests) before joining the queue. If any test fails, follow the on-screen suggestions to fix the issue and re-run the check.
</Warning>
