How to apply

When you find a job you’re interested in on the Jobs page, click on it to view the full details — including the role description, requirements, pay rate, and equipment needed. If you’re a good fit, click Apply to start the application process.
Each job has its own set of application steps based on what the project requires. Not every application will ask for the same things.

Application steps

The application is a guided, step-by-step process. A progress bar at the top tracks how far along you are, and a sidebar (or steps menu on mobile) lets you navigate between steps. The steps you’ll encounter depend on the job, but here are all possible steps:
1

Upload Resume

Upload your resume so the team can evaluate your qualifications. Accepted formats are PDF and DOCX. Your resume is kept private and is not shared with third parties.
2

Reasoning Style Assessment

A short assessment that evaluates your reasoning and problem-solving approach. This is required for jobs that involve analysis, evaluation, or quality review.
3

Domain Expert Interview

An interview focused on your domain expertise. This step is used for specialized roles that require deeper evaluation of your skills and experience.
4

Availability

Set your weekly availability so the team knows when you can work. Select the days and hours you’re available using the scheduling tool.
5

Voice Recording

Record a voice sample using your microphone. This verifies your audio quality and is required for recording and conversation-based jobs.
6

Video Sample

Record a short video sample. This is required for jobs that involve video conversations or video-based data collection.
7

Audio Quality & Guidelines

Complete a short audio quality check and review the project’s recording guidelines. You may need to pass a brief quiz to confirm you understand the requirements.
8

Work Authorization

Confirm your work authorization status, accept the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, and certify that all information in your application is accurate. Both checkboxes must be checked to proceed.
Most jobs require at minimum: Resume, Availability, and Work Authorization. Recording and conversation jobs will also include the voice recording, video sample, or audio quality steps.

Viewing job details during the application

While filling out your application, you can click the Job Details button in the header to review the full job listing — including the role description, requirements, pay, and responsibilities — without losing your progress. Click Back to Application to return to where you left off.

Submitting your application

Once you’ve completed all required steps, the Submit Application button becomes active on the final step. After submitting:
  1. You’ll see a success confirmation
  2. You’ll be redirected to your dashboard
  3. Your application status will appear under My Jobs
You can only submit one application per job. If you’ve already applied, you’ll be notified and redirected to your existing application.

What happens after you apply

1

Application review

The WorkBolt team reviews your application, resume, and any recordings or assessments you submitted.
2

Job offer

If your application is approved, you’ll receive a job offer in your dashboard. The offer includes the job details, contract terms, pay rate, and expected start date.
3

Accept or decline

Review the offer and choose to Accept or Decline. Accepting the offer gives you access to the job and any required certifications.
4

Certification (if required)

Some jobs require a certification before you can start. If the job has one, it will appear on your Certifications page after you accept the offer.
5

Start working

Once everything is complete, you can start picking up tasks and submitting work.

Application tips

Include relevant experience, skills, and any domain expertise that matches the job you’re applying for.
If the job requires a voice or video recording, use a high-quality microphone in a quiet environment. Check the Recommended Microphones page for approved options.
Be honest about when you can work. Setting availability that you can consistently meet helps you get matched with the right projects.
Make sure you meet the language, accent, equipment, and expertise requirements before applying. This saves time for both you and the review team.
After applying, monitor your status under My Jobs in your dashboard. You’ll be notified when there’s an update.
